A Showcase of Equipment Built for Farmers
This year, AFGRI Equipment took farmers by surprise with a display of construction equipment specifically selected to demonstrate how these machines can support everyday farming operations.
On display were:
- The John Deere 770 P-Tier Motor Grader
- The John Deere 315 Backhoe Loader (TLB)
- Two Wacker Neuson machines:
Positioned alongside the iconic green John Deere agricultural tractors, our construction equipment demonstrated that farming solutions extend far beyond the field. The combination of John Deere’s agricultural and construction equipment highlighted how farmers can use a wider range of machinery to improve efficiency and productivity across their operations.
Practical Solutions for Everyday Challenges
The equipment on display was carefully chosen with the needs of farmers in mind.
The John Deere 770 P-Tier Motor Grader showcased its potential for maintaining farm roads, improving access routes, and keeping transport pathways in optimal condition throughout the year.
The John Deere 315 Backhoe Loader demonstrated its versatility through a range of available attachments. From digging and trenching to loading and material handling, the machine offers farmers multiple solutions in one highly adaptable package.
Adding to the display were the Wacker Neuson machines, which proved to be the perfect complement to our lineup. Compact, efficient, and easy to operate, they offer farmers a practical way to move materials quickly and efficiently wherever they are needed on the farm.
Together, these machines showed how construction equipment can play a vital role in supporting agricultural operations, helping farmers save time, reduce manual labour, and improve productivity.
While many visitors associate construction equipment with infrastructure projects, these machines are becoming increasingly valuable on farms. From maintaining roads and digging drainage channels to moving feed, loading materials and preparing new developments, versatile equipment helps farmers complete a wider range of tasks with greater efficiency throughout the year.
The Story Behind Val Boeredag
What makes Val Boeredag so special is its history and purpose.
The event was originally established through the vision of Dick Kerslake, who believed farmers should have the opportunity to see the latest agricultural equipment operating in conditions similar to those on their own farms. He understood that seeing machinery in action would allow farmers to make more informed decisions and compare different products side by side.
Kerslake, together with members of the Waterval Farmers’ Association, engaged with agricultural businesses in the area to bring the idea to life. With the support of local farmers and industry partners, the first Val Boeredag was born.
More than three decades later, the event remains true to its original purpose. Live demonstrations continue to be the highlight of every Val Boeredag, giving farmers the opportunity to experience equipment performance firsthand and discover solutions that can add value to their operations.
