The time finally arrived , after much anticipation for AFGRI Equipment Construction and Forestry to make their grand debut into the Construction industry as John Deere Construction Dealers , and as always it was executed like nothing the industry has ever seen!
Once we got our engines rolling ,the days commenced with our keynote speaker and new Construction and Forestry Manager , Pieter Nel addressing the attendees and introducing the existing line of John Deere Construction Equipment. Our guests could kick back with an awesome cup of coffee as they sat in our container village and watched as the new line of John Deere Construction machines entered the catwalk and moved on to their respective stations. At the satellite stations there would be presentations and demonstrations on each machine.
The idea behind “Deere Drive” played out as a metaphor for the naming of roads/stations that the machines would be demoing at, road building equipment from Wirtgen and for the whole events setup. Our guests were divided up into five groups and rotated between each station after the event had commenced.
We had five areas set out namely, Excavator Avenue, where the John Deere E210 Excavator was presented by the new Financial Director of AFGRI Equipment Construction and Forestry , Frik Horn. Wheel Loader Way where the John Deere 644K Wheel Loader was presented by a familiar face to the agricultural side of our business , Leon Pool all the way from AFGRI Equipment Vredendal. Next we moved on to Dozer Drive where the John Deere 850-J-2 Bulldozer was demonstrated and presented by Dirk Poley , new to AFGRI Equipment but no stranger to the construction industry with over 10 years of sales experience in earthmoving construction equipment! The next station was presented by our very own Patrick Modise who manned Motor Grader Lane and presented on the John Deere 670G Motor Grader, a favourite station among those who wanted to demo the machines. Lastly was the John Deere 315 SL TLB at Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB) Boulevard that was presented by the cool, calm and collected Mr Pieter Bosch , new to AFGRI Equipment but a legend in the construction equipment industry!
Once we turned off our engines and started to cool down our guests made their way back to the village where lunch was served , street food style!
To summarize the week from 17 to 21 May 2021 was a firm commitment from AFGRI Equipment to focus on customer service and uptime. We had an absolute blast, be on the lookout for further Deere Drive events coming to your area, it is legendary!
